Longreach QLD

17 June 2021 we began this trip from the Countryside of Regional NSW then into Longreach QLD which is known as the heart of Queensland’s outback. We stayed 2 nights and spent time in town seeing much of the history still on display with old cobb and co horse drawn carriages and old trucks.

The first evening we attended the QANTAS Founders Museum Luminescent Longreach, which is “a spectacular night time light and sound experience designed to delight, entertain, inform and move. Stand amongst iconic aircraft as world class projection mapping and 360 degree immersive sound brings the 100 year story of Qantas to life with the mighty Boeing 747 serving as a primary canvas.”

The QANTAS museum has lots to see and do during the day and night. Tours thru some of the original aircraft are full of facts and history and you can climb into a 747 engine which is only possible in 2 places in the world.

We depart Longreach for a non-stop flight to Mareeba where we shall begin our tour of the QLD Atherton Tablelands
