{"id":61,"date":"2021-06-27T07:39:37","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T21:39:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sydneyflying.com.au\/?p=61"},"modified":"2021-06-27T07:50:50","modified_gmt":"2021-06-26T21:50:50","slug":"atherton-tablelands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sydneyflying.com.au\/?p=61","title":{"rendered":"Atherton Tablelands"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We flew into Mareeba, locked up the aircraft for 6 days, hired a car and began exploring the beautiful Atherton Tablelands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About 1 hour drive from Cairns Airport for those using normal flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full of rich colours, from the great soils to the abundance of lush landscapes, farms, forests, and waterfalls. The area has QLD&#8217;s highest roads and towns and lot&#8217;s of history. We stayed in the middle of most sites in a town called Yunguburra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We visited: Lake Barrine and Lake Eucham formed from volcanic craters and fed from the water table to keep them clean and full of water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"540\" src=\"https:\/\/sydneyflying.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1981.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-62\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sydneyflying.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1981.jpg 720w, https:\/\/sydneyflying.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1981-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We had a nice picnic at Lake Eucham, walked to various waterfalls at Malanda and surrounds.
